Bac Ninh to develop 10,000-hectare high-tech economic zone
Bac Ninh province plans to establish a 10,000-hectare special economic zone to drive new growth and support its transition toward becoming a centrally-governed city. The proposed zone is being researched for the Kep and Lang Giang areas and their surroundings.
The economic zone will focus on high-tech sectors, including digital technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and data centers. Key functions will include international intermodal railway logistics, supporting industries, green industry, and international trade and services.
The location was selected due to its strategic logistics infrastructure, specifically its connection to the Kep International Intermodal Station, the Kep dry port, and the Hanoi - Bac Ninh - Dong Dang railway corridor. The area is also linked via the Bac Giang - Lang Son expressway and National Highway 1, providing connectivity to major economic hubs such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh, as well as international border gates.
