Phu Tho authorities prosecute six for hospital livestream disorder

In Phu Tho Province, authorities have prosecuted six individuals for “causing public disorder” following a disruptive livestream incident at Lac Viet Friendship Hospital. The incident began when a group of approximately ten people used social media to broadcast live, shout, and spread false information regarding a patient's medical condition. The group's actions, which garnered roughly 17,000 interactions online, disrupted hospital operations and caused anxiety among patients and staff.

The prosecuted individuals include the patient's biological parents, parents-in-law, aunt, and uncle. Police described the case as a rare judicial occurrence where multiple family members were held criminally liable due to unverified social media content.

Separately, in Ho Chi Minh City, a company identified as L. A. was fined 15 million VND for the illegal copying and installation of computer software at a local school. Authorities ordered the company to destroy and remove all infringing copies, warning that intellectual property violations can lead to criminal prosecution under the Penal Code.
