Gabon baccalaureate results released; Algeria opens online officer recruitment

Algeria’s Ministry of National Education announced that the results of the teacher recruitment exam will be posted online on 6 August 2026, with individual scores accessible through the official portal. In the same week, the Algerian Ministry of National Defense launched electronic pre‑registration for career officer candidates, requiring a university degree, a maximum age of 19 years (adjusted for study length) and single status; applicants must complete the process via the ministry’s website.

Gabon’s Ministry of Education published the 2026 baccalaureate outcomes, showing a national success rate of 85.59 %. The province of Nyanga led with 91.48 % passes, followed by Haut‑Ogooué (90.54 %) and Woleu‑Ntem (89.64 %). Minister of State for Education Camélia Ntoutoume Leclercq presided over the official proclamation in Libreville and awarded the ten youngest successful candidates tablets and certificates to encourage academic excellence.

These announcements affect thousands of students and prospective military officers across both countries, marking a coordinated push toward digitalisation of public recruitment and a celebration of educational achievement.
