Iztapalapa Colegio de Bachilleres attacked by hooded individuals

A group of hooded individuals, preliminarily identified as shock groups, stormed the Colegio de Bachilleres Plantel 6 'Vicente Guerrero' in the Iztapalapa borough of Mexico City on Friday, October 9. The attackers used firecrackers to cause chaos, resulting in property damage, broken glass, and damage to parked vehicles.

During the incident, a teacher sustained a contusion to the right parietal region of the head, and a woman suffered an anxiety crisis. Both received medical attention on-site but did not require hospital transfer. Students were forced to seek shelter in the rear of the building before being evacuated.

The Secretary of Public Education (SEP) condemned the violence, stating that no violent act is justifiable and calling for conflicts to be resolved through institutional and legal channels. Reports suggest the intrusion may be linked to allegations of sexual abuse against a teacher at the institution.

Following the attack, school authorities suspended afternoon classes to protect the community and assess damages. The Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) deployed personnel to the area to prevent further incidents and secure the premises.
