Bağcılar and Gaziemir municipalities deploy robotic grass‑cutting units

The Bağcılar district municipality in Istanbul has placed two remote‑controlled, pallet‑type mowing robots called “Bağbot” into service. The 1,200 W machines can clear 32 m² per minute, roughly 13,000 m² in a day, speeding up grass‑cutting in parks and green areas. Mayor Yasin Yıldız said, “Her alanda olduğu gibi çim biçme konusunda da teknolojiden yararlanıyoruz. İlçemize hayırlı olsun.”

Similarly, the Gaziemir municipality in İzmir has introduced a weed‑removal robot for parks, green spaces and vacant lots. The device, also remote‑controlled and pallet‑based, is designed for steep terrain and dense vegetation, improving efficiency, safety and fire‑risk mitigation. Mayor Ünal Işık noted, “Belediyemize kazandırdığımız yeni aracımızla … hizmet kalitesini ve verimliliğini artıracağız,” adding that the robot will save time and labor while reducing fire hazards from dry weeds.
