Bacoli Mayor requests urgent aid for Campi Flegrei businesses and housing

The Mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, has called for urgent assistance to mitigate the economic and social consequences of recent seismic activity in the Campi Flegrei region. During a meeting with Campania Region President Roberto Fico, the mayor identified several critical priorities, including support for local businesses, the restoration of public transport services, and assistance for building safety.

The local tourism sector is facing significant challenges due to numerous cancellations, prompting requests for financial aid similar to pandemic-era relief. Additionally, transportation issues persist, with the metro system remaining inactive and the area experiencing relative isolation.

To address the housing crisis caused by displaced residents, the mayor advocated for a special law to accelerate funding for necessary home repairs. Minority council members have also criticized previous administrative decisions, such as parking restrictions and mobility issues, arguing that long-term mismanagement has exacerbated the current difficulties faced by citizens and merchants.
