Badajoz fatal multi-vehicle collision investigation underway

A fatal multi-vehicle collision involving three cars occurred on the N-523 highway near Tiro de Pichón, between Cáceres and Badajoz, shortly before 4:00 PM on Sunday. The accident resulted in the death of a man estimated to be between 20 and 25 years old.

Five other men were injured in the crash, with one reported to be in serious condition. All injured individuals were evacuated to the Hospital Universitario de Badajoz.

Authorities from the Guardia Civil are currently investigating the cause of the collision and whether speed was a factor. A key part of the ongoing investigation is determining if the deceased, who was traveling in one of the rear seats of a vehicle, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the impact.
