La Roche-Posay Racing Team launches first AC75 in Naples

The La Roche-Posay Racing Team has become the first competitor to launch and sail its AC75 monohull in the Gulf of Naples. Representing the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, the French team arrived in Bagnoli after transporting the vessel via a specialized convoy from France to prepare for the 38th America’s Cup.

This early deployment allows the team to begin intensive training and analyze the local waters ahead of the Louis Vuitton Cup, which is scheduled to begin on May 22, 2027. The team aims to use this period to gain a competitive advantage by mastering the specific wind and tactical conditions of the Naples bay.

Italian officials from Sport e Salute, Invitalia, and the Commissioner's Structure highlighted the event as a milestone for the regeneration of the Bagnoli area. The site is being transformed to host a sailing village and infrastructure intended to provide a lasting legacy for the region following the 2027 competition.
