Naples accelerates infrastructure and events for 2027 Cup

Preparations for the 2027 America’s Cup in Naples are entering a critical phase. As the 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta approaches (September 24–27, 2026), logistical and technical assessments are underway. BWA Yachting has officially opened superyacht berth bookings across eight regional marinas, including Marina di Capri and the undergoing Marina di Bagnoli, using a specification-based evaluation model.

To support upcoming regattas, Sport e Salute is constructing approximately 1,000 square meters of temporary platforms along the via Caracciolo seafront. These structures will facilitate dock-in and dock-out operations for AC40 vessels and accommodate spectators and authorities. Italian President Sergio Mattarella has highlighted the event, noting the city’s deep historical connection to the sea.

Sponsorship and media coverage have expanded significantly. The Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup has announced North Sails as the Official Technical Apparel Sponsor, which is launching a ‘Road to Naples’ capsule collection and partnering with the British team GB1. Additionally, Naples-based flour producer Mulino Caputo has been appointed as an Official Supplier to integrate local culinary traditions into the event.

Media interest is bolstered by the IMAX-certified documentary ‘Sail’, directed by Frank Marshall and Evan Hayes. The film explores the technicalities of AC75 vessels and features prominent figures such as Grant Dalton, Sir Ben Ainslie, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and Max Sirena.

Hospitality preparations include the AC38 Club at Castel dell'Ovo and a public Race Village at Rotonda Diaz. Regional tourism is also being integrated, with the Municipality of Agropoli launching a mapping initiative to support its candidacy for ‘Italian Maritime Capital 2027’.
