Bahia cooking gas prices expected to rise from September 1

Cooking gas prices in Bahia are expected to rise starting September 1st. The Sindicato dos Revendedores de Gás da Bahia (Sindrevgas) announced that the adjustment is driven by increased operational costs, specifically the impact of a collective labor agreement (dissídio coletivo) which has raised labor expenses.

Estimates suggest the price of a 13kg cylinder could increase by up to R$ 10, potentially reaching R$ 160. This follows two months of price decreases in July and August. Other contributing factors to the price hike include transportation, logistics, taxes, storage, and maintenance costs.

Because final prices vary by municipality, neighborhood, and individual reseller margins, consumers are advised to compare prices between different distributors to mitigate the impact on household budgets.
