Bahia Court of Justice holds training on National Adoption System

The General Internal Affairs Office of the Court of Justice of Bahia (CGJ-BA) held a virtual training session involving over 200 participants to discuss improvements to the National Adoption and Care System (SNA).

Led by Corregedor-Geral Salomão Resedá, the event included judges, court staff, and representatives from international adoption organizations. Key topics included combating delays in the care process, optimizing the flow of concentrated hearings, and ensuring the accuracy of registry data.

Katy Braun do Prado, President of the Brazilian Association of Judges for Children and Youth, emphasized that institutional care should only be used in cases of rights violations rather than social vulnerability. The discussions also focused on the importance of rapid reassessments to prevent developmental delays in children residing in shelters.
