Bahia Court of Justice launches Justice for Peace at Home Week

The Court of Justice of the State of Bahia (TJBA) has launched the 33rd Justice for Peace at Home Week. This national mobilization, organized by the National Council of Justice (CNJ) in partnership with state courts, aims to increase the effectiveness of the Maria da Penha Law (Law No. 11,340/2006).

The initiative focuses on accelerating legal processes related to domestic and family violence against women, while strengthening prevention, protection, and awareness actions. Throughout the week, judicial units will concentrate efforts on conducting instruction and judgment hearings, preliminary hearings, and issuing decisions and sentences related to domestic violence cases.

The program includes discussions on gender violence and the rights of women in traditional communities and territories, featuring perspectives from indigenous and quilombola leaders.
