Bahia infrastructure: Road paving projects advance in Prado and Itanhém

Infrastructure developments are advancing in the extreme south of Bahia through several road paving projects. In Prado, the environmental license for the suppression of native vegetation has been granted by INEMA. This allows for the resumption of paving works on a 29.3-kilometer stretch of the BA-001 highway, connecting the municipality to the district of Cumuruxatiba.

Simultaneously, in Itanhém, work is progressing on the second stage of the BA-290 highway. This project involves an investment of over R$ 31 million to pave a 17-kilometer section between the Vila Rezende community and the border with Minas Gerais. The expansion aims to create a nearly 200-kilometer road corridor intended to facilitate regional mobility, support rural production, and boost tourism between Minas Gerais and the Bahia coast.
