The municipality of Sorocaba, through its Secretariat of Mobility (Semob), restarted its traffic‑education program in schools from Monday, 3 August, through Friday, 7 August. The initiative, titled “Aluno Seguro: Volta às Aulas,” includes theatrical presentations, the “Minicidade” activity and on‑site educational blitzes aimed at drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians. By the end of August the program plans 45 actions, adding lectures for companies and outreach at strategic city points.

In the first half of 2026 the program reached about 95 000 people with 274 activities. Core messages stress the prohibition of mobile‑phone use and alcohol while driving, the need to signal turns, and obedience to traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. Activities were held at several schools, such as Escola Estadual Professor Julia Rios Athayde, Escola Municipal Professor José Carlos Florenzano, Escola Municipal Jaci Dourado Matielli and Escola Municipal Profª Norma Justa Dall’Ara, as well as at busy intersections on Avenida General Osório, Avenida Adhemar de Barros and Avenida Brasil.
