Bahia region reports fatal drowning accidents involving children and adults

Four children died by drowning on Sunday afternoon in a reservoir located on a private property in the rural area of Paramirim, Bahia. The victims, identified as brothers Jefferson Davi Silva Oliveira (9), Diego Silva Oliveira (6), and José Diogo Silva Oliveira (3), along with their cousin Lorenzo Almeida Cardoso (8), were part of a group of seven people on an improvised boat when the accident occurred.

In a separate incident in Planaltino, Bahia, a father and son died in a water tank on Friday afternoon. Adalberto Pereira de Souza and Adailton Vieira de Souza were reportedly working to move a water pump when the accident happened. Authorities are investigating whether the cause of death was drowning or electric shock, as a female relative reported receiving an electric discharge while attempting to rescue her father-in-law.
