Saudi Arabia’s Oil Facilities Drone Attacks Prompt Regional Condemnations
A series of drone attacks targeted Saudi oil installations in Riyadh and the Eastern Province. The drones were launched from Iraqi territory and were attributed to militias linked to Iran. Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed several of the drones.
Bahrain’s foreign ministry condemned the attacks as a violation of the UN Charter and UN Security Council resolution 2817, urging Iraq to stop the use of its territory for such operations. The Arab Parliament, together with Qatar and Egypt, issued condemnations, while Pakistan’s foreign ministry also denounced the strikes as a serious threat to regional peace and stability. Gulf Cooperation Council members expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for any lawful response.
