BAIC and BYD showcase electric vehicles at GIIAS Semarang 2026

Automotive manufacturers BAIC and BYD are participating in the GIIAS Semarang 2026 exhibition, held from September 30 to October 4 at the Muladi Dome, Universitas Diponegoro.

BAIC, represented by PT JIO Distribusi Indonesia, is offering significant discounts of up to Rp 91 million on its vehicle lineup. The company is highlighting the BAIC T1, a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), which is being offered at a special price of Rp 379 million. Additional incentives for the T1 include free dash cams, portable chargers, and discounts on home charging installations.

BYD Motor Indonesia is showcasing its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) technologies to the Central Java region. The company reported that its electric vehicle population in Central Java has exceeded 3,000 units, accounting for approximately 37% of the region's total electric vehicle population. BYD currently operates seven dealerships in Central Java and plans to expand this network to 16 locations. Nationally, BYD recorded sales of 40,700 units between January and August 2026, representing a 37% share of the national electric vehicle market.
