Indonesian motorcycle industry exhibitions and sales

Overview

The Indonesian motorcycle and automotive industry has maintained high engagement through various exhibitions and promotional events. Following the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in late August 2026, where PT Astra Honda Motor reported nearly 600 units sold during a riding test event, manufacturers continued localized promotional efforts.

In Purwokerto, Yamaha held the Gear Ultima Carnival at Grendeng Field on August 22–23, 2026, featuring test rides and MSME bazaars. On September 3, 2026, the fourth Indonesia Motorcycle Helmets Apparel Accessories Exhibition (IMHAX) opened at the SMESCO Building in South Jakarta, targeting Rp7.5 billion in transactions.

To commemorate National Customer Day, Honda dealers conducted regional activities. In Banten, PT Mitra Sendang Kemakmuran organized events across 24 dealers, including blood donations and cooking competitions, while collaborating with the Banten Provincial Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency to provide information on consumer complaint channels. In Riau, PT Capella Dinamik Nusantara hosted a ‘Rolling City & Customer Gathering’ in Pekanbaru, featuring safety briefings and promoting the My Capella application for digital maintenance and service booking.

Looking ahead, the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) has scheduled the Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS) 2026 for November 20–29 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in Tangerang. The event will showcase automatic, sport, big, and electric motorcycles, alongside modification projects and accessories. This follows a positive market trend, with AISI data indicating domestic sales reached 4.3 million units between January and August 2026, a 2.2 percent increase over the previous year.
