Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage returns to Chiayi City
The Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage, known for its distinctive pink sedan chairs, has returned to Chiayi City after a three-year hiatus. The event coincides with the 360th anniversary of the Dafuxing Temple in Qiding.
Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui and her administration hosted the procession at the city government office, where they offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of citizens. The religious event has drawn large crowds of devotees from across Taiwan, particularly during the National Day holiday period.
Local businesses and residents have supported the procession by setting up supply stations to provide food and water to the pilgrims. In addition to the procession, Dafuxing Temple is hosting community celebrations, including a variety show featuring local performers.
