Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage activities

Overview

The Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage has seen significant activity in Taiwan, marked by both large-scale processions and commemorative ceremonies.

In Chiayi City, the pilgrimage returned after a three-year hiatus, coinciding with the 360th anniversary of the Dafuxing Temple in Qiding. The event, characterized by distinctive pink sedan chairs, drew large crowds of devotees and was hosted by Mayor Huang Min-hui, who offered prayers for peace and prosperity. Local residents and businesses supported the pilgrims by providing food and water stations.

In Miaoli, Zhu Bei Mayor Cheng Chao-fang led a delegation to Gongtian Temple to mark the one-year anniversary of the pilgrimage’s visit to Zhu Bei during the ‘Zhu Bei Beyond Zhu Bei Cultural Festival’. During the ceremony, the Mayor presented a specially designed city perfume to the deity as an offering to symbolize wishes for the well-being of citizens.
