National Firefighters Day celebrated across Mexico and Venezuela

Various municipalities and state governments across Mexico and Venezuela are holding ceremonies to commemorate National Firefighters Day. These events focus on recognizing the bravery and service of emergency responders while addressing institutional needs.

Other regions, such as Querétaro, Chihuahua, and Hermosillo, held ceremonies to honor long-serving members and induct new generations of responders.

Despite these celebrations, reports highlight ongoing challenges within the profession. In Tijuana, some firefighters have voiced concerns regarding low wages and the need to purchase their own essential gear. In Culiacán, officials noted a critical need for more stations and increased personnel to meet the city's growing demands. In Jalisco, legislative efforts are underway to elevate police and emergency benefits to a constitutional level to ensure long-term stability.
