Baja California police receive highest salaries in Mexico

Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda announced that police officers in the state are the highest paid in Mexico, earning a monthly salary of 24,497 pesos.

To support law enforcement, the administration has established a trust fund of 1.5 billion pesos for the 2023-2027 period. This fund is intended to cover personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California (SSCBC) and the State Penitentiary System Commission (Cesispe).

The state offers thirteen social benefits, including retirement pensions, early retirement, disability, medical services, and educational scholarships. Between January 2024 and June 2026, 2,136 officers have received various benefits, with 215 million pesos allocated to support agents and their families.
