Baja California Sur proposes tax incentives for youth employment

In Baja California Sur, Deputy Karina Olivas Parra has proposed a legislative initiative to amend the State Tax Law. The proposal aims to combat youth unemployment and the “experience trap” affecting individuals aged 18 to 29.

The initiative suggests a temporary 100 percent discount on state taxes for remunerations for employers who create new formal job positions for this demographic. This tax benefit would be valid for a maximum of 12 months per hired worker. The program would be managed through the Secretariat of Finance and Administration and the Institute of Youth of Baja California Sur to ensure administrative control and promote economic formality in municipalities such as La Paz and Los Cabos.
