Baja California Sur pushes health forums and transport worktable

Governor Victor Manuel Castro Cosío of Baja California Sur announced a statewide plan to hold five health forums that will assess the conditions and needs of medical services in each municipality. The forums will review projects such as the ISSSTE clinic in Cabo San Lucas, a new IMSS regional clinic, the upcoming Hospital Raúl A. Carrillo, and a medical school in San José del Cabo, aiming to generate diagnoses and actions to improve health care for residents.

In a related effort, the governor travelled to Mexico City for the first intergovernmental worktable on transport, chaired by senior officials from the Secretariat of the Interior and the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport. Participants, including the Los Cabos mayor and state transport officials, agreed to engage tourism transport operators and public service providers to develop proposals that ensure safe, efficient transport in line with Supreme Court rulings. Both initiatives seek to strengthen public services and legal certainty for the population of Baja California Sur.
