Baku hosts international conference on Sheikh Seyid Yahya Bakuvi

An international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the Azerbaijani scholar and theologian Sheikh Seyid Yahya Bakuvi Shirvani was held in Baku. The event was organized by the Caucasus Muslims Office as part of the 7th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The conference brought together nearly 200 religious and public figures, scholars, and representatives from approximately 40 countries and 18 international organizations. Speakers, including Caucasus Muslims Office Chairman Allahshukur Pashazade and OTS Secretary-General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, discussed Bakuvi’s spiritual legacy of tolerance and brotherhood.

Following the sessions in Baku, participants traveled to various regions in Azerbaijan, including Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, and Shusha. The delegation visited the Khojaly Genocide Memorial Complex to honor the victims of the 1992 tragedy and observed ongoing reconstruction and infrastructure projects in the liberated territories. In Shusha, religious leaders visited local mosques and historical sites to observe the restoration efforts following the city's return to Azerbaijani control.
