Balša Popovic signs with Olympiacos as goalkeeper

Montenegrin 26‑year‑old goalkeeper Balša Popovic announced his transfer to Greek club Olympiacos, describing the team as “a European giant.” He said the move is a relief for him and his family after years of hard work, adding that he sees himself as a modern, brave and decisive goalkeeper. Popovic made the comments during the presentation of Olympiacos’ new stadium, Georgios Karaiskakis, calling it “one of the most beautiful in Europe” and expressing eagerness to play in front of the club’s fans.

He emphasized his excitement to join the red‑white side and his readiness to meet supporters in the new arena.
