Olympiacos 2026 transfer drive – Roca, Diagisi, new talks
Overview
Olympiacos’ summer preparations continued through mid‑July. After Joël Roca’s arrival in Amsterdam on 17–18 July, the club confirmed his transfer from Girona on 17 July. The 21‑year‑old left‑winger signed a five‑year contract (four‑year term with a one‑year option) worth roughly €5‑6 million, includes a €1.5 million bonus and a 15‑20 % sell‑on clause, and passed his medical exams. The Greek side travelled to the Netherlands for a series of pre‑season friendlies. On 17 July Olympiacos beat Fortuna Sittard 3‑1, with new signing Zota Silva scoring a hat‑trick (20’, 24’, penalty 58’). A day later the team lost 1‑0 to Ajax at the club’s training centre in Amsterdam, the solitary goal coming from Enbartsen in the 80th minute. Coach José Luis Mendilibar used a 4‑2‑3‑1 formation, rotating youth players while keeping key attackers such as George Masouras on the field. The schedule also includes upcoming matches against Anderlecht and AZ Alkmaar as the squad, including debutants Joël Roca and other recent acquisitions, is further tested. During the same period Olympiacos announced the signing of 19‑year‑old midfielder Diagisi from Volos, completing the youngster’s move to the Piraeus club. On 18 July the Greek side submitted a €1.3 million bid to Hamburger SV for right‑back Manolis Saliakas, adding resale‑percentage and performance‑bonus clauses. Mendilibar said the defender would complement Pablo Maféo at right‑back. Transfer activity remained fluid later in July. Negotiations for goalkeeper Konstantinos Zolaki’s move to a Premier League side have stalled, while talks with Sevilla regarding midfielder Osso are currently on hold. Olympiacos reached an agreement to sell Bulgarian defender Stancic to Ludogorets for up to €10 million, but a dispute over an additional €600,000 fee and a doubled salary demand has delayed finalisation. On 21 July the club announced two defensive moves.
