Balaton Beach Competition Awards 2026 Announced

Balaton Blue Wave competition beach awards Kisfaludy Strand family‑friendly beach

The 23rd edition of the "Blaue Welle" (Blue Wave) competition evaluated 42 Balaton beach operators against strict criteria covering parking, sanitation, accessibility, water‑edge condition, playgrounds, sports facilities and gastronomy. A panel of municipal and tourism representatives awarded five‑star status to 25 beaches, four stars to 13 and three stars to three locations. The Kisfaludy Strand in Balatonfüred won "Best Balaton Beach 2026". Special recognitions went to the Diási Játék Strand in Gyenesdiás for family friendliness, the municipal beach of Alsóörs for gastronomy, the Föveny Beach in Balatonfűzfő for innovative SUP rental, and the municipal beach of Csopak for its smart‑destination digital features.
