Balaton region names best beach and hosts family music festival with Mercedes giveaway
The Balatoni Szövetség awarded the 2026 Balaton Best Beach title to the Kisfaludy Strand in Balatonfüred after a five‑day on‑site evaluation of 42 nominated beaches, assessing facilities, accessibility, environment, and services. The ceremony took place on July 10 in Fonyód, and several special recognitions were also presented, such as the “Balaton Family‑Friendly Beach” and “Balaton Gastronomic Beach” awards.
Separately, a one‑day all‑age music and family festival will be held on July 11 2026 at Balatonszabad, the southern shore of Lake Balaton. The event will feature concerts by Hungarian acts, a giant amusement park, street‑food stalls, quad tracks, and a beauty zone. Festival organizers partnered with TISZA World and K&H Bank, and a prize draw will award a Mercedes‑Benz A‑Class car to a ticket‑holding attendee.
Both initiatives aim to strengthen community ties, promote tourism, and highlight the cultural and recreational offerings of the Balaton region.
