Baldur's Gate 3 receives new fan-made expansions

The Baldur’s Gate 3 community has released two significant new fan-made expansions for the PC version of the game.

Creator SquallyDaBeanz has launched the beta for ‘The Chionthar Wilds,’ a mod that inserts a new region between Act 2 and Act 3. Designed for parties between levels eight and ten, the expansion features new quests, dungeons, NPCs, and over 70 new items. The mod is designed to integrate into existing mid-campaign saves by redirecting players through a bridge near the Road to Baldur’s Gate waypoint, though it eventually includes a point of no return to transition into Act 3.

Separately, modder Batilfly has released ‘The Sunless Citadel,’ a campaign available on Nexus Mods. This mod offers seven to eight hours of content and functions as a more linear, dungeon-focused experience. While it currently lacks a minimap and a camp system, it supports cooperative play and utilizes a custom teleportation system to assist with navigation.
