Balearic Islands combat four forest fires on Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera

Four forest fires are burning simultaneously on the Balearic Islands, with active fronts reported in Muro (Mallorca), Santa Eulària (Ibiza) and Formentera. The regional Conselleria d’Agricultura, Pesca i Medi Natural coordinates the response, deploying IBANAT firefighters, forest‑fire brigades, aerial units, an autobomb, and technical staff from the Directorate General of Natural Environment and Forest Management. The islands are under Alert Foc 4, the highest fire‑risk level, as extreme heat, low humidity and strong winds increase the danger.

One of the blazes, near Palma's Parc Bit, has burned about 4.1 hectares of agricultural and forest vegetation before being stabilized. Authorities have urged residents to avoid any fire‑related activities, respect restrictions and report any smoke to emergency services.
