Balendra Shah criticised by his own party in Nepal

Prime Minister Balendra Shah of Nepal posted a late‑night Facebook message urging patience and warning that “sometimes the reality is different from what is seen or heard”. The post came after members of his ruling National Independent Party (RSP) sharply rebuked the government's handling of recent protests that followed the Jan‑Ji movement.

RSP leader Manish Jha addressed the parliament, saying no single leader can stand alone against a government backed by a broad public mandate. He pledged to keep the government alert, urged improvements in administrative skills, and called for representatives to stay connected with the people. Jha reiterated his support for the elected government while highlighting perceived shortcomings in governance.

The exchange reflects growing tension within Nepal’s ruling coalition as public anger over the government's actions continues to rise.
