Bali authorities deport foreign nationals over alleged sexual misconduct
Indonesian immigration authorities have deported two foreign nationals from Bali following investigations into alleged violations of local laws and public decency.
A 30-year-old French man was deported via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport after authorities investigated reports that he was producing and promoting sexual content through an online platform. Denpasar Immigration officials stated the man had entered Indonesia on a Visa on Arrival and was subjected to administrative action to maintain public order.
Separately, a 27-year-old Australian man was flagged by the Immigration Management Information System and intercepted at the airport ahead of a flight to Brisbane. He is a suspect in an investigation regarding an alleged public sex act in a North Kuta driveway, which was captured on CCTV and circulated on social media. While police are still searching for a female accomplice, the Australian man is expected to be deported. Authorities noted that public acts of indecency are illegal in Indonesia.
