Immigration enforcement and deportations in Bali
Overview
Immigration authorities in Bali have conducted several deportations of foreign nationals for violating local laws and visa regulations.
In mid-August, a Lithuanian national was deported after being found to be working illegally as a business owner and content creator for a social media account while on a business visit visa. The individual received a five-year ban from re-entering Indonesia.
Later in August, authorities deported a French man for allegedly producing and promoting sexual content online using a Visa on Arrival. Additionally, an Australian man was intercepted for deportation following an investigation into an alleged public sex act in North Kuta that was captured on CCTV and circulated on social media.
