Bali deports Australian man following public indecency incident

An Australian man, Billy Aspinall, has been deported from Bali and banned from entering Indonesia for 10 years following an incident of public indecency. In late August, surveillance footage captured Aspinall and a foreign woman engaging in sexual activity outside a residence in North Kuta.

The incident caused significant local backlash, as residents viewed the behavior as an affront to Balinese Hindu culture. Following the event, a traditional religious purification ceremony was held at the site to cleanse the area of negative energy.

Although the homeowner declined to file criminal charges, the case was referred to immigration authorities. Aspinall was identified via facial recognition technology at Ngurah Rai International Airport while attempting to return to Brisbane, leading to his detention and subsequent deportation.
