Bali Governor Pushes Data‑Driven Planning Ahead of 2026 Economic Census
Governor Wayan Koster of Bali ordered all provincial agencies to base policies, programs and budgeting on reliable data as the province prepares for the 2026 Economic Census. He urged local officials and the public to provide accurate information, noting that the census will record every business—from micro‑enterprises to large firms—and update household economic data. The census will deploy 3,774 enumerators for door‑to‑door collection from 8 June to 31 August 2026, targeting about 1.71 million business units and families.
The national statistics agency, BPS, praised Bali’s overall progress, reporting a 43.35 % completion rate, slightly above the national average of 42.75 %. Buleleng district leads with nearly 55 % coverage, while Denpasar city lags at 31.38 %. BPS asked Bali’s regional authorities to focus on lower‑performing areas, offering a real‑time dashboard that allows local leaders to monitor field staff and intervene where needed.
