Bali hosts Coinfest Asia 2026 amid digital asset growth

The Coinfest Asia 2026 event, held on August 20-21 at Melasti Beach and Umana Bali, highlighted Indonesia's growing digital asset industry and its ambition to establish Bali as an Indonesian International Financial Center (PFII). Industry leaders noted that clear regulations, targeted for completion by August 2026, are essential for market growth. Discussions included the potential tokenization of commodities such as palm oil and rubber.

Calvin Kizana, CEO of Tokocrypto, emphasized that the PFII initiative aims to attract global investment. Additionally, representatives from Binance suggested that success in the Indonesian market will likely belong to fintech integrations or super-apps that already hold public trust, rather than pure crypto applications.

To support community engagement, the crypto trading platform FLOQ organized a Community Bus program, transporting 60 members from Yogyakarta to Bali. The initiative served as a networking space for participants to discuss digital assets and build connections prior to the main festival.
