Bali immigration authorities detain foreigners for various violations
Immigration authorities in Bali have conducted enforcement operations targeting foreign nationals for various violations.
In North Kuta, a 27-year-old Australian man, Billy Aspinall, was apprehended at Ngurah Rai Airport following reports of a public sex act on a resident's driveway. Aspinall admitted to the act, stating he and an unidentified woman had been intoxicated. While the homeowners declined to press criminal charges, the case was referred to immigration officials, who tagged him as a Subject of Interest.
In a separate operation in Ubud and Sanur, the Denpasar Immigration Office conducted patrols of entertainment venues. During the patrol, officers detained two Nigerian nationals. One individual attempted to flee from officers before being caught, and subsequent checks revealed that one man had overstayed his visa by 379 days, while the other failed to produce valid immigration documents.
