Bali murder-suicide claims lives of Australian man and two children

Indonesian police have discovered the bodies of 56-year-old Perth man Damien John Shaw and his two children, aged 4 and 6, following a murder-suicide at a bungalow in Legian, Bali.

According to Senior Commander Ariasandy of the Bali police, Shaw’s wife witnessed the events unfolding via a live security camera stream on her phone while she was in Jakarta. The footage reportedly showed Shaw chasing his four-year-old daughter, Laura, after the death of their six-year-old son, Archie. Investigators believe the son was strangled first, prompting the daughter to attempt to escape.

Shaw reportedly suffered from severe anxiety, which his wife indicated could cause panic even during routine tasks like helping the children with homework. The security camera had been manually pointed downward, but the mother was able to adjust the angle remotely to view the living room during the incident.
