Balkan leaders hold high-level meetings at UN General Assembly

On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, several Balkan leaders held high-level meetings to discuss regional stability, European integration, and digital policy.

North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković to discuss European perspectives, the importance of continuing reform processes according to European standards, and regional cooperation. Mickoski also held talks with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti regarding improved good neighborly relations and shared development opportunities. Additionally, Mickoski participated in a high-level panel hosted by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, focusing on peace, multilateral cooperation, and international law.

Prime Minister Plenković also met with Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook. Their discussion covered the development of digital services in the European Union, the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, digital safety, and regulations regarding social media use by children. Plenković highlighted the growth of Croatia’s ICT sector and the government's digital transformation efforts.
