Zabıta Teşkilatı celebrates 200th anniversary across Turkey

Municipalities across Turkey are holding various events to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Zabıta Teşkilatı (Municipal Police Organization) and Zabıta Week.

In Lapseki, teams planted roses at the İki Atlı Martyrdom to commemorate the milestone. In Yahyalı, Mayor Esat Öztürk met with personnel to recognize their role in maintaining urban order. Trabzon's Ortahisar Municipality conducted visits to nursing homes and commemorated fallen officers. In Bornova, Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of the municipal police in field operations and announced plans to increase staff numbers to 140.

Other regional celebrations included children in Tokat wearing uniforms to participate in inspections, and a ceremony in Kocaeli where Mayor Tahir Büyükakın highlighted the organization's role in public security. In Balıkesir, municipal vehicles were arranged to form a crescent and star symbol during a ceremony at the Atatürk Monument.
