Ballan-Miré Celebrates European Heritage Days with Tours and Medieval Fair

The town of Ballan-Miré in France hosts the European Heritage Days on 19‑20 September under the theme “Patrimoine en péril: raviver, résister, réimaginer”. Events include a photo‑contest exhibition at La Parenthèse, a heritage walking tour organized by Ballan Rando visiting the Château de Beauvais, the restored staircase of La Taillerie, Rue de l’Hospitalité and the bicentennial square, and the inauguration of a new sculpture by artist Saulius Savickas.

Visitors can also explore the Radio Antenne Portugaise studio, the Jardin des Mystères and the 18th‑century Closerie de la Fuye. A medieval market called “Le Loup Argenté” recreates a High‑Middle‑Age merchant camp with wood‑working, rope‑making, costume‑making demonstrations, weapon displays and period board‑games, alongside exhibitions on ancient trades and the local church.
