Romania hosts diverse cultural festivals and theatrical premieres

Romania is hosting a diverse series of cultural events across various cities, ranging from music festivals and multimedia shows to theatrical premieres and ballet performances.

In Bucharest, the iMapp Bucharest event will transform Constitution Square into a multimedia hub featuring international artists like Rudimental and WhomeWho, alongside a video mapping competition. Additionally, the Sound District Floreasca festival will bring over 400 artists to the streets and Verdi Park, blending classical and contemporary music.

Other regional highlights include the Sinaia Forever festival, celebrating its 31st edition with parades and concerts, and the Sounds of Fantasy series in Timișoara, which drew over 7,000 spectators for film-inspired symphonic performances. In Sibiu, the Ballet Theatre is opening its new season with contemporary works by Marcello Algeri, while Deva will host a production of ‘The Nutcracker’ by the Balletto Nazionale Italiano.

Local theaters are also launching new seasons, such as the Aureliu Manea National Theatre in Turda and the Dramatic Theatre in Petroșani. Film enthusiasts can enjoy outdoor screenings in Câmpulung and Târgu Mureș, while Reșița is hosting a casting call for a new film production directed by Iura Luncașu.
