Cultural events and festivals in Romania

Romania continues to host a diverse array of cultural, musical, and family-oriented events across multiple cities.

Recent programming has expanded to include large-scale multimedia and music festivals. In Bucharest, the iMapp Bucharest event is set to transform Constitution Square into a multimedia hub featuring international artists such as Rudimental and WhomeWho, alongside a video mapping competition. The Sound District Floreasca festival also features over 400 artists performing in the streets and Verdi Park, blending classical and contemporary music.

Regional highlights include the 31st edition of the Sinaia Forever festival, featuring parades and concerts, and the ‘Sounds of Fantasy’ series in Timișoara, which attracted over 7,000 spectators for film-inspired symphonic performances.

Performing arts remain a central component, with the Ballet Theatre in Sibiu opening its season with contemporary works by Marcello Algeri, and Deva hosting ‘The Nutcracker’ by the Balletto Nazionale Italiano. Local theatrical seasons are also launching, including at the Aureliu Manea National Theatre in Turda and the Dramatic Theatre in Petroșani. Additionally, film-related activities continue with outdoor screenings in Câmpulung and Târgu Mureș, while Reșița hosts a casting call for a new film production directed by Iura Luncașu.
