Baloch activists accuse Pakistani forces of targeting mothers and labourers in Balochistan

Baloch rights activist Sammi Deen Baloch said Pakistani police attempted to detain her mother outside the Karachi Press Club on International Mother’s Day, alleging that authorities treat mothers of activists as criminals for speaking out against enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

The Baloch Students Organization Azad condemned the deaths of nearly a dozen labourers in the Kuntani area of Gwadar district, describing the incident as a "massacre" carried out by Pakistani security forces. The group accused the army, police, Coast Guard and Frontier Corps of extorting bribes, beating workers and destroying vehicles, calling the pattern "state barbarism" and part of a broader Baloch genocide.

Both statements highlight ongoing claims of systematic repression and human‑rights violations against civilians in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
