Baloch Liberation Army claims 30‑plus Pakistan Coast Guard deaths in Jiwani attack

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) announced that its Majeed Brigade carried out a suicide truck‑bomb attack on a Pakistan Coast Guard camp in Jiwani, Gwadar district of Balochistan on the evening of July 3, 2026. The group said the explosion was followed by a coordinated assault by its Fateh Squad, resulting in more than 30 coast‑guard personnel killed and dozens injured. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch described the operation as a "fidai" (sacrifice) attack and linked it to the insurgents’ broader campaign for greater autonomy and control over the province’s resources.

Pakistani authorities have not yet confirmed the casualty figures or issued an official statement on the incident. The Gwadar area, which hosts a large China‑backed port development, is strategically important, and the BLA has previously targeted security installations and infrastructure projects in the region.
