Baloch Liberation Army claims suicide attack kills over 30 Pakistan Coast Guard personnel in Jiwani

The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said it carried out a suicide‑commando attack on a Pakistan Coast Guard camp in the Panwan area of Jiwani, Gwadar, Balochistan. A bomber identified as Attaullah Baloch (also known as Ajmal) drove an explosive‑laden Mazda truck into the fortified camp at about 18:32 local time on Friday, triggering a massive blast. The BLA released a 43‑second video of the truck entering the compound and later footage showing much of the structure reduced to rubble. According to a BLA statement, the attack was followed by a coordinated ground assault by its Fateh Squad, which engaged surviving guards. The group claimed that more than 30 Coast Guard personnel were killed and many others injured, saying, “As a result of this powerful blast, the fortified colonial camp of the Coast Guards was completely turned into a heap of rubble,” and adding that further casualties were likely among the injured and those trapped under the debris. Pakistani military and government officials have not yet confirmed the casualty figures or damage extent.

The BLA reiterated that its armed campaign against Pakistani security forces will continue with the same intensity until it achieves what it calls the “complete independence of Balochistan.”
