Baloch National Movement protests human rights abuses in Geneva
The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a protest rally and photo exhibition outside the United Nations Office in Geneva to demand international intervention regarding human rights violations in Pakistan.
The demonstrations aimed to highlight alleged enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and collective punishment in Balochistan, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Protesters displayed photographic evidence intended to document the plight of families seeking information about missing relatives. The BNM claimed that thousands of individuals have been subjected to enforced disappearances and cited figures of more than 3,500 such cases.
Speakers at the event, including BNM Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch, addressed the gathering to call for global attention to the situation. The group also highlighted the sentencing of political activists in what they described as fabricated cases, specifically mentioning the legal struggles of activists like Mahrang Baloch.
