Baloch Yakjehti Committee alleges human rights abuses in Balochistan

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has raised serious allegations regarding human rights violations in Balochistan, Pakistan. The rights organization has condemned an order from the Assistant Commissioner of Kalat directing residents in the Shor Parod, Khalili, Khalkhti, and Shoki areas to vacate their homes by September 28. The BYC characterized this displacement as “collective punishment” and a “genocidal policy” aimed at stripping the local population of their identity and livelihoods.

Additionally, the BYC has alleged that Pakistani security forces and state-backed groups are responsible for the deaths of several civilians. This includes the killing of a 28-year-old teacher, Abdul Khaliq, inside his home in the Khuzdar district. The committee also reported the deaths of two farmers, Munir Ahmad and Safar Khan, whose bodies were reportedly found after they had been missing for months following alleged forced disappearances by the Frontier Corps. The BYC has called for international intervention to investigate these patterns of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances.
