Balochistan: 20 police recruits abducted by armed men

At least 20 police recruits were abducted by unidentified armed men in the Mastung district of Balochistan, Pakistan. The incident occurred on the Quetta-Karachi highway in the mountainous Gorgina area while the trainees were traveling in a passenger van.

The recruits were undergoing training at a police center in the Kalat district and were reportedly heading home for a weekend break. The attackers intercepted the vehicle and forced the driver to follow them to an unknown location. While the gunmen released the driver and three other passengers, they took the 20 constables with them.

Security forces have launched a large-scale search operation in the surrounding mountainous terrain to locate the missing officers. As of now, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the abduction. This event follows the recent kidnapping of Asad Ullah Kakar, the commissioner of Balochistan’s Rakhshan Division, in the Kharan district.
